General Cocker Spaniel Discussion / Re: Urine killing my lawn

Being boys, my two wee up the big flower urns  around the edge of the  lawn, and the area around each one is completely void of anything growing including grass, but looking on the bright side it does mean I don't have to move the urns when I mow as they have an approx 6" circle of bare ground round each one  ;)  :shades:

I used to feed my scotties tripe, which I got delivered ,frozen from a pet food place, along with chicken. They absolutely loved it, but oh, the smell !!!!!!!

We used to have moles so iíd patch the lawn by either cutting turf from another area or buying a turf metre. In this heat itíll be hard to keep it damp enough to bed in. My lawn is starting to brown from the sun and last summer it looked like a desert so I donít cut it as low now.

I thought Iíd update this as there have been changes and It might help somebody else.
Peanut is now on tripe which makes me gag but she loves it. I mix a heaped tablespoon in with her complete kibble and the bowl is licked clean!
Coaxing her to eat is over.

The tripe is the straw that broke the camelís back and my wife has moved out. Of course that canít be the real reason, me spoiling both dogs is apparently the crux. I donít see why spoiling two good natured, obedient, non aggressive dogs is bad. Unlike the kids they will never have to go out into the real world and cope on their own!

Tripe, it stinks, the stuff I use is frozen and I did not cook it - I canít imagine the outcome had I cooked it, maybe the neighbour would have vacated too!
