Video plays sideways. Editing advice needed.

I took a video but had the camera at right angles, so that it now plays sideways  . How do I edit it? I can rotate photographs OK using MS Office Picture Manager but don't know how to rotate a video that currently open by default in Windows Media player. Idiots guide please

I've done that a couple of times too, annoying isn't it ?  You can rotate it using Windows Movie Maker - open your video up in the programme, click on tools and select 'rotate 90 degrees'. You need to right click on it and drag it into the star box where you video is in the timeline. I hope that makes sense, it's easier to do it than to explain how.

Aaargh  . My 'tools'  in Windows Movie Maker doesn't have a 'rotate 90 degrees' option, or any 'rotate' option.  What now?

Sorry - it's in video effects, which is in the tools menu. Depending on which way you held your camera you'll need either rotate 90 degrees, or 270.
