Can I ask, your SX110 IS, what is it like for moving doggy shots? Any good? Or do you just leave that to your SLR?

Thanks again,
-Alex

I haven't actually tried to get any outdoors action shots of the dogs with the SX110, if I'm going to do that I use the 50D. It does have very little shutter lag and you can manually adjust the ISO and shutter speed settings so I think it might give some decent results though. If I get a chance at the weekend I'll take some action photos with it.

Thanks Nicola. Hope you get the Chance, as I'm seroually thinking about this one. :D

(Others on here seem to be looking at compacts to complement thier SLRs, so I'm sure they'd be interested too - Plus, we love looking at your lovely doggies!)

That said NOW I find out Canon are brining this out next month

Athough, it's going to be quite expencive from what I've read. And I think out of my price range. It's got a wider angle lens and longer zoom. But there you go.

I really wanted a cam soon, as my 400D is stuck in the shop, and I'm without a cam altogether...

The SX 2000 IS doesn't have a viewfinder, so that limits it for action shots and with bright light behind you using the lcd screen.

Sorry Alex, my OH has naffed off to the Caribbean for a 'work' trip with the Powershot ::)  He's not back until next Saturday so I obviously won't be able to get any photos with it until then!

I havent had time to test it much. I ment to try again today, then it rained... I'll try on thursday, if the weather is okay, as I'm out tomrrow.

If Nicola's OH is back from his trip with the camera, perhaps she could have a go at some test shots with her? We love to see her doggies.

Fantastic photos, and Marlee just gets more  :luv:  :luv:  :luv: all the time.

Have to arrange a meet up soon so you can really put your camera to the test - trying to get a decent photo of Purdey! We havent managed it yet!

Yes, we'll have to do that. I'll PM you.
Heh, I may have to wait to get my SLR back for that, the way the dogs run around at Orwell!
