Title: I pad help
Post by: mlynnf50 on March 02, 2013, 10:07:15 PM
I ave an I pad 2 that I got when they first came out, I am having a problem with updating it, I need to put IS0 7 on it but when I try it says I will loose all my things that I have bought on I tunes.

Anyone any ideas please, just to say I am not computer savvy so will have to be in simple terms please and step by step.

Thanks

I am not really that savvy either but was always under the impression that anything you bought from iTunes can be accessed from anywhere so would think you would be able to get previous bought material even after update. Either that back up your  iTunes to laptop or use iCloud then once updated "push" your stuff ack onto ipad....hope that makes sense...but prob not haha

You can't put an SD card in an I pad. Anything you have bought from I-tunes will still be available.

If you can its worth going to an Apple store, as they will be able to advise you.  I had a similar problem with my Iphone a while ago, but managed to set up a Icloud a/c so that I didn't lose anything.  Anything that you've bought through Itunes should be safe.

I'm pretty sure that the original iproducts can only be updated to a certain level and then any later updates won't work. I have an original iPad and haven't been able to update since 5. something.

When I try to up date it just says you will loose all data, even though I have followed the instructions. It's an I pad 2. If things went wrong I would have no idea how to retrieve everything. >:(
