A poem for your friend Gaynor and for you too Hun 

I lost a treasured friend today
The little dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And share her silent thoughts with me.
She'll come no longer to my call,
Retrieve no more her favorite ball
A voice far greater than my own
Has called her to His golden throne.
And though my eyes are filled with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years
He let her spend down here with me,
And for her love and loyalty

Have read all these posts with tears pouring down my face remembering my dog who went to Rainbow Bridge many years ago. Honey was loved all her life and you and her mum took the brave step of deciding for her that she had had enough. It is the last sign of love we can do for our dogs. Big hugs to you and Honey's mum. That's achingly sad to read but at the same time holds such an overarching sense of the touching relationship you developed it's almost warming.

So sorry for your loss but happy that you had such a special time when together.
