We are not out of the woods yet. Tuesdays vet visit didn't go well. Her temperature is up again, she won't eat (thinks mum is poisoning her as she sniffs the med). We have tried many foods to try and entice her.  Her mouth is healed .The lump on her neck, which they think is a bite has not changed despite the antibiotics she is on
She doesn't want to get up in the mornings and takes herself to bed during the days. .  We have  2 days now to try and get her  ",normal' before a vet visit Friday for a more through check over and a stay for tests.  We are very worried

Poor Gemma, it is so very hard when our four legged darlings are not well.

I do understand how very worried you must be, and I hope she starts to pick up soon.

As always  :bigarmhug: to Gemma and a cocker kiss to both of you from Harry.

Thinking of Gemma and hoping she is on the mend soon. Time and medication will hopefully bring Gemma back to her sprightly self.

saga continuing
suspecting  Pancreatitis now. had blood test this morning and reading is abnormal.  on way now for steroids to help her.  leaving her diet as it is at the minute as it has took a while to start her eating after dental and other on going infection.  but am aware of low fat diet so i know what tit bits etc to stop.   At least liver and kidney readings have returned to nornal .

ps, any body got advise on how to bung up a spaniels nose so it can not sniff out medications  ph34r :005:

Poor Gemma, you must be so stressed as you have been up and down with worry.
My suggestion of cheap pate to disguise the tablets may not be helpful if you are trying to cut down fats.  You can get a device that looks a bit like a syringe that is meant to shoot pills down the throat.  I did try with Marley but I wasn’t very successful.

Vixen
I thought about one of them, but she won't open her mouth for love nor treats. She has a clamp down far stronger than any of my staffies. Hopefully the steroids have no smell and chicken can come to the rescue. Have been using cocktail sausages but have thrown them away after the vet visit,   Hope they haven't helped towards it

Oh dear, poor Gemma!
Haven’t lived in UK for many a long year, but can you still buy those little jars of fish paste?, probably  wouldn’t contain quite so much fat and possibly smelly   enough to disguise tablets?
Sending  :bigarmhug:

Oh boy, that’s the last thing she needs, poor love. Would set honey coating the tablet, wrapped in ham/chicken or similar be any good?  I don’t envy you getting meds into her! Xx
