"working" my cocker - what's it all about then?
« on: July 31, 2006, 01:20:25 PM »
My Charlie is part show part worker (with oodles of FTCH in his pedigree) and I'd like to know more about "working" him. Where can I find out more about this , and are there any clubs for this that I could get involved with?

He is a family pet, and in future (when he's old enough) will become my running partner - I'm currently marathon training again, and I hope one day for him to join me on some of my shorter off road runs.

IronMan in training......................

If you want to train Charlie to the gun your best bet is to join a gundog club or a shooting club or something similar. I've registered Alfie with our local gundog training group and we start once he's done his basic obedience training but we've been doing a bit of practice with a dummy and some whistle training which is great fun for both of us  :D

There are quite a few gundog groups about so maybe you could do a google search to see if there are any in your area.
