Earlier in the week i came into the house to find Betsy had been sick several times and some of the sick had blood in it. I immediately called the vet and got an appointment for the evening. The vet said her gums were pale and felt her tummy and said he could feel some sort of blockage. He asked if Betsy ever ate socks or anything like that, which she doesn't.
Anyway she had an awful night crying and whimpering and just couldn't settle.
We had an appointment for the next morning to take her in, so they could put her on a drip, take xrays, blood tests and potentially operate. I dropped her off and waited for the call. When the vet rang he said that something had shown up on the xray and was i happy for him to go ahead and operate. Of course i said yes. When he opened her up he found a 3 inch piece of garden wood chipping
I have no idea where she got it from, because it isnt something we have.
Betsy had to stay in overnight which was awful. The house felt really strange without her, but luckily she kept water and fluids down and could come home the following evening.
My beautiful girl is so sad and quiet. She doesn't even follow me into the kitchen at the moment. She is back to the vet tomorrow for a check up, so fingers crossed everything is ok.
Oh and the vets bill is up to £834!
