computer help please, Arrrgh

My computer is driving me insane it keeps rebooting every time i try to delete something or get on certain sites , the screen goes blank then it just reboots its done it 3 times in 10 minutes this morning , its esp bad on my emails so i think i may have a virus but we have avg , malware and several others going to try and stop it, has anyone got any ideas before i chuck the thing out of the bedroom window  >:D >:D ,

What operating system is it? Can you see a blue screen flashing up very quickly before it restarts?

If it's a windows pc, try booting it up in safe mode the run your malware/virus scans

its windows and it goes black and then reboots but i will watch out for it flashing blue the next time it does it, its taken me this long to get back on it from my posting  >:D , ------lilypup i will get my OH to have a go at doing what you suggested  :blink:

Which version of Windows is it, XP, Vista or 7?  I can give you more specific instructions once I know which OS it is.
