Bob is an affectionate, amusing and rewarding 9 year old Cocker Spaniel. He is a very handsome little chap who loves to play. Unfortunately, Bob has had some problems with possessiveness and stealing food and this has resulted in him biting on the hand when trying to remove items that he shouldn’t have – particularly food. He has received intensive behavioural training and his manners and behaviour have greatly improved and he is working very hard to overcome his issues. Bob now has greater respect for humans and has more self control in regard to food. Since the beginning of his training, there have been no biting incidents although he still needs ongoing training and a ‘sensible’ approach (i.e. at this point in his training if Bob does steal food it is better to let him have it than get into a confrontation). A new home is needed for Bob as his owners have had a baby and have had to make the very difficult decision that, with his history, it isn’t safe or practical for him to stay. Despite his faults, Bob has a wonderful personality - He loves nothing more than exploring new places following his nose and running around the park! In the evening he will amble over for a stroke and will stay close all evening. Bob would make an ideal companion for owners who have the time and commitment to continue with his training programme and who do not have children in the home.
