Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18EB Digital Camera - anyone got one?

Hi, I've bought a new camera , its a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18EB Digital Camera - Black (8.1MP, 18 x Optical) 28mm Wide-Angle Lens and am waiting for it to be delivered tomorrow.   I'm now thinking I should have researched it a bit more as haven't told OH I've bought it, has anyone got one and are they any good.

No - but my mum has just bought the Panasonic Lumix TZ3 - which she is really pleased with.
It had really good reviews and we did a fair bit of research for her - so you should be ok! .

Yeap, I have it, and I have the Lumix TZ3!    Two cameras McGraw, thats what they call me.  You have got yourself a really good camera there.  I know I don't use my to my full potential either but what I do use is great.

Thanks all, it arrived yesterday so spent last night charging the battery up and trying to read the manual.   It looks great, must admit I've only tried it out with the idiot's program so that the camera does all the work and the speed shooting (if thats what its called), is fantastic.  Should be able to get some great action shots.    Am really pleased with it.

I've got it.I think, it's a good choice.Pictures are pretty, and the zoom very well.

I use the idiot program.

The only thing ,not excellent, it's the picture when my dog run or jump...

Camera is absolutely fantastic, I don't understand your comment about when your dog's jumping or running as it takes great action shots.  Are you using the burst mode for action shots, it takes a lot of shots but you actually catch them in action which is the reason I wanted this camera.   The videos are really good quality as well, I've only used this for my little boy singing Puff the magic dragon though.   I also use the idiot auto program.

I'm sorry if you don't understand what I mean (I'm french, and it's not easy to find the good words).
The shots are sometime fuzziness or I just have my dog's tail in action...
But perhaps it's me and not the camera.I use the mode "sport" but it's not better...

This afternoon, I'll study seriously the manual...

Hi Beryl, its the burst mode you need to use.    The small button which is used for deleting pictures, also has the burst mode shooting function.

Thank you, I've just seen this mode after reading the manual .But it's not possible tu use burst mode with the flash..
When the rain will stop to fall, I will go outside with  Béryl to try this mode...
 It's difficult to have good picture when the dog walk quickly inside during the shows..Did you try to do it?
