New boards
« on: January 10, 2009, 05:31:18 PM »
We're in the process of doing some forum spring cleaning and will be adding some new boards and removing/amalgamating some others. At the moment, we have two new boards :

http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?board=141.0 (for chat about other pets besides dogs)

and

http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?board=142.0 (for other general dog related discussions)

Other changes will be announced as soon as we have time to get them sorted ;)

I was going to say. I'm sure they were the same last time I looked, but as someone else had already posted I didn't see the need to as well. I thought I was going mad for a minute then.  :005:

Thanks for that. I'm not sure I am all that clear about the second new board; what you want us to put in that etc, so please be patient with me (and any other thickies out there)!

Thanks for all the work you all do.

The threads that have been moved over to that board should illustrate what can go there - it's just for discussing general dog-related issues (the type of thread that used to go in Anything Goes because there was nowhere else to put them).

PS Sorry for putting the same link twice above but when you've spent a couple of hours moving threads about, your brain tends to go to mush :005:

Don't worry. You do a fantastic job keeping track of us all. It can't be easy.  ;)

Another new board by popular demand :

http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?board=143.0

Please bear with us as there are lots of threads which could go on this board but it will take time to find them and move them over.

It is something that's been discussed in the past but there's no plans to have one yet. If anyone wants to give a write up of their favourite walks they could put it in the Reviews section. Requests for walks in a particular area can be posted in Anything Goes.

With everyone living in different parts of the country it would be difficult to set up a specific board that would adequately cover all geographic regions and be easy to navigate. We are also a bit wary of having too many boards on the forum - to make space for the 2 new boards we removed a couple of rarely used ones.

If anyone wants to compile a list of existing dogwalk websites we could maybe 'sticky' it in the Holiday section though, if people think it would be useful for planning holidays.

I've done a new sticky with links to sites giving info on good dog walks, dog friendly beaches etc
