Title: Cassie: Sweet Blue Roan Girl 4y Old
Post by: PennyB on January 30, 2006, 10:09:50 PM: This is Cassie, a sweet 4y old blue roan cocker girl who's now looking for a new home.

Cassie is now spayed (stitches out this Wednesday), recently had teeth out and rest have had a good clean and polish, and she has been given a good checkup by my vet. She is also fully vaxed, wormed and frontlined. My vet commented on how gentle she was at her 1st checkup with him (she will let you wipe here eyes and ears quite well but so far won't let me use scissors on her but she's relatively mattfree at the moment anyway).

She came from a home with a 9 year old child but I feel she wouldn't fit in to a very noisy household. She loves people and is a little shy when she 1st meet strangers but she will very quickly want them to give her a cuddle. Cassies gets on with other dogs (and cats) but again I feel she would be better with calm(ish) dogs around her (mine have their moments but they leave her alone as they have each other and don't bounce all over her). While she's been here she's really coming out of herself each day. Cassie love her walks and will go offlead for the 1st time this week (she's been on lead only walks due to her spay, but was fine after a 3-hour one on saturday with my two). She may need a little work on her lead walking (but at 10kg in weight its not too painful)!

She's being fostered in Cardiff at the moment and is being rehomed by Four Paws Animal Rescue South Wales. Anyone who's interested will be homechecked, and a minimum donation fee will go to rescue. New owners will also sign an adoption agreement. When the prospective owner passes the homecheck they will have to come down to Cardiff to meet Cassie.

we picked up a puppy rescue from MT today otherwise we would be so tempted............ with two young dogs in our household now it would be far too busy for her.

I hope she finds her happy home soon :) which I am sure she will :D
and what fortunate people they will be

My only concern is that Piper is so active and will want to jump and play with her, although during the day he goes to work with hubby so she will just have me for company. To all those who have PMd/emailed re Cassie, she's still available and I will be looking through the details of you all. Please bear with me though, as I also have to work over the weekend, but I haven't forgotten any of you.

Penny Please call me I simply am dying for this dog, she looks so like my late dog Fragli. the whole household is pining. I have 'phoned most of the Rescue Co-Ordinators listed and I am totally shocked that my offer of offer TLC and re-imburesment is not wanted. There must be a little cocker who is being abused!! Breeders are not allways thinkng about the dog, perhaps the "£500 a throw has a bearing. whereas I would pay that much. Is anyone Listening ???

Its probably not that your offer to rehome isn't wanted, its possible there just aren't any suitable dogs available with them.

I have a list of people who have all contacted me re Cassie and will go through it at the weekend (in conjunction with the rescue).

Yes I think Penny's right. I know Cocker Rescue in the South have a waiting list of people wanting youngish bitches in particular but there are not always dogs available.

... and the three of us couldn't be more pleased or more excited. A bit of transferred hooliganism will go unnoticed among the collies of Cumbria and, since Millie came from near Penny originally, the pair of them should be able to confuse the canine natives in Cocker-Welsh. So, fingers/paws/everything crossed that it all goes well and there will be two sets of flying ears to puzzle the sheep and confuse the squirrels.

Really looking forward to meeting Cassie (and you and Wilf and Ruby, of course, Penny).
