Title: Who Is Doing The Travelling?
Post by: want1 on October 26, 2004, 09:30:23 PM
Just wondering, when its time for someone to mate, who is the one who actually have to travel to the other for it to happen?

It's normal practice for the bitch to go to the stud dog. I think its partly due to his being able to 'perform' better on his own territory.

    I take it you're referring to mating dogs!   Sorry, as far as I am aware it depends on the dog and bitch owners.  I suppose it depends on where you are located in relation to the dog, and how far each party is willing to travel.

As Gill & Tracey said, I think it depends, but on the whole usually the bitch owner travels to the stud dog. This might not always be the case as it may depend on how well the 2 owners know each other  ;)
