Title: Whose pup has there first Christmas with them this year?
Post by: Choc-Chip on November 19, 2011, 09:01:15 AM
There are quite a few pups at the minute so was wondering who has got there first Christmas with there pup and how old they are. This will be Woody's first Christmas with us and he's just turned a year so was only very little last Christmas at the breeders. So who else out there has a pup who's with them for their first Christmas?

The joys of pulling over the Christmas tree and knocking baubles off all over again for us... :005:

It's not Odie's 1st Christmas with us (that was last year) but I just wanted to say that even though I had his puppy panels surrounding our tree last year, he STILL managed to squeeze himself through it and munch on my chocolate seashells which were under there :P  Cue a lot of panicking about chocolate poisoning......  This year no chocolates are going to be in reach of norty paws :lol2:

Oh dear naughty Odie hehe :005:

Yes, we don't have chocs under the tree, they'd be gone in an instant with our 3!

Is anyone brave enough to have a tree?

Dillon's first Christmas and he will be 10 months.....really looking forward to spoiling him with a few pressies  ;)

Our tree is the centrepiece of our Christmas decorating (don't have much else to be honest) and we have quite a large real tree every year......bit worried this might not be a good idea this year.  Not sure whether to just do it and hope he gets used to it or wait until next year when he is a bit older/not so inquisitive????

I have already warned the kids that we probably wont be having a tree and that advent calendars are to be kept well out of reach!
Meg is 6 months old, so things should be interesting.

It is Jinleys first Christmas and she will be just under 6 months old.  I dont normally have a tree in the house, but I have in the past got a large real one on the patio so you can see it through the doors with lights on in a large metal frame for stability - will probably do this again, just decorating the fireplace, windows and hall.

Trying to get the biting under control before the onslaught of guests!

Yep Mollie's first Christmas, she will be 8 1/2months, it will also be her first winter in Spain as we are off on 18th Dec.  As we shall be in our motorhome we shall have a small tabletop tree with lights so hopefully she won't reach it  :005:

Dylan had his first Christmas with us last year and was as good as gold with the tree. This year Daisy has joined the family and she'll be nine months old. She's much more of a little live-wire and I can just imagine what will happen when they decide to play-fight!!

Still, I'm going to risk putting the tree up and just hope for the best!  :005:

Looking forward to watching them both un-wrap their presents on Christmas morning - and then we're off to my brother's in Kent for Dylan and Daisy to cause havoc there!  ;)

It will be Joy's first Christmas with us too.. :D She is four months old.. :021:

We will have a tree...and everything will be ok..! I like being optimistic..!

I will try the trick I tried with my other dog Danni. He is now three years old but as a puppy he was a hurricane.. >:D

I noticed that whenever he watched me doing something..when I wasn't in the picture anymore he would go and destroy that something. So I made him wait in another room as we brought and decorated the tree. When we were done , I let him come into the livingroom and I pretended there is nothing different about it and that the tree is no big deal. And this has worked for the past 3 years! We always have a tree and noone messes with it. I hope this wiil work with our new puppy too  :003:

Yup, Toby's first Christmas and he will be nine months old on Christmas Eve.  We really need a new tree but now I'm wondering whether it will be worth it cos I'm sure it will take a battering (just like everything else).  :005: :005:

Beau will be 4 months at Christmas, I bet he gets more presents than me !  Our last cocker, Bryn, only had 1 accident at Christmas which was when we visited my sisters house and he immediately cocked his leg onto her daughters sack of presents.

Dexter will be 6 months old on 17th December, so it's his first Christmas.

Last year was Charlie's first Christmas he was almost 1 as his birthday is new years eve, we needed a new tree so we bought a smaller one and put it on a side table. This worked well, but there was no way presents were going under until Christmas morning as I don't think they would have been left alone  :005:

This will be Cupar`s first Christmas also as he will be 1yr on 26th November. Funny this thread should appear as just discussing with OH re Christmas tree!!!! but think we will give it a try and if he really cannot resist the bobbles etc then will move it. Cant wait to see his reaction when it goes up !!!!! No pressies under tree though, thats giving him a licence for mischief.  ;)

It will be Pippa's first Christmas.  We had a tree last year with Barney and he was very good (better than the cat anyway).  Will try again this year and see what Pippa makes of it.  She is generally pretty good.  In fact, I think the only thing she has damaged so far was an electric cable she chewed through just after we got her.

Paws crossed that they all leave the trees and prezzi's alone and behave themselves then. Chip was really good last year but Woody is much more of a handful than him do think he may be a bit of a monkey :005: Will just have to wait and see.

It is Alfie's first Christmas, he'll be one day short of 7 months.  :D

We're going to chance it with the tree, I'm sure we'll spend a lot of time making sure he doesn't eat or destroy everything but we couldn't have Christmas without a tree!

He's having a stag bar for a present but on the offchance he doesn't like it we'll have paddywhack at the ready!

It's Millie's first Chirstmas this year as well..... but we have decided to have two 3 foot trees which can be put on top of the side board and the table in the corner so they "should" be high enough to be out of reach!  :D

Our DS has been warned that his advent calendar MUST be kept out of reach of Millie and we will be keeping a very close eye on this so am hoping everyhting will be good!  Besides her attraction today seems to have been my diningroom chairs.... two are now totally chewed to bits and hoping the other two are not on Millie's list of things to do!!  :016:

Cocker's are certainly worse than kids.. you can't turn your back for a minute!

This will be his first proper Christmas when he will actually get pressies and has fun with the wrapping paper! I am really looking forward to this one cos last year we had just lost Harriet and TBH I was still grieving deeply for her.  :'(

Great post Choc Chip.

Christmas has arrived in our house. The coke advert has been on a week now and were very excited. If only Eve knew that we are taking her to Lapland very soon..

Ollie was born on new years eve so this will be his first christmas. He already has a doggie advent calendar. The tree will be very interesting for him. My wife loves plenty of decs in the house. Its like santa's grotto. The swag on the fireplace will pose a challenge for Ollie :005:

Were planning on putting the tree up when we return from Lapland on 3rd December.

Let it snow, let it snow let it snow!!!!!!

Well what a Xmas this has been. I got Candy on Monday night and Tuesday became a very poorly puppy so I've been back and forth to the vets all last week. Pretty much no sleep for me until last night but this Xmas day was certainly the turning point. She's started to act a bit like a normal puppy running about with Missy. Defo on the mend now fingers crossed she will be fine. What a week, I've never cried so much. I didnt think I'd be bringing her home from the vets on Wed morning.

Special things do happen at Xmas. The vet will be getting a huge huge huge bunch of flowers on Friday.

I'm one very happy Daddy and Missy certainly is happy to have a little sis to have big walks with.

Ah you poor things - what has been wrong with her?

Toby loves all his new toys but not sure about noise when whole family playing ps2 games!

I can't remember what the name of it was exactly something along the lines of cistas. She was not eating or drinking and had lots of blood in her toilets. She's getting better now thank god.

Oh no I really feel for you. Archie had a really similar problem when I got him home and was back and forth to the vet too. Antibiotics sorted him out and we didn't have Christmas to contend with. So glad things are looking up and Candy is feeling better. She'll be driving you nuts before you know it!

Well it was our first Christmas with Ruby, she is just over a year old. I was expecting the tree to be knocked over, presents destroyed etc. but she has been really good ........

Apart from when she chased the cat under the tree on Christmas morning and the whole lot nearly went and when she tugged the corner of the tablecloth when the table was all beautifully set for Christmas dinner..........best cutlery, best posh glasses  >:D >:D It was total chaos!!

Plastic next year I think  :005: :005:

Wispa was one yr old on 1st Dec so her first Christmas with us. She was very good with the trees, ran underneath a few times but didn't attempt to steal a bauble or dec so was very impressed with her.

Toby's first christmas this year and I was expecting alot worse to be honest! He's been really good, it was Charlie who was more interested in the tree than Toby :005: Charlie knocked over the tree last year and did the same this year, its only a small tree though but Charlie seems fascinated by the tinsel :005: :005: Toby loved unwrapping all their presents & all the dogs had an antos treat each and have since had poorly bellies but are fine now but won't be giving them them again :005: :luv:

Alfie had his first christmas and was so clever.......he opened only his presents and didn't bother about the kids ones. He is six months now and an absolute star....looking forward to many more christmases with him!
