Title: Orange Roan + golden make??? what colour pups...
Post by: Chezer on April 25, 2012, 10:15:19 PM: Just wondering a bitch that is pregnant at the mo and is due on may 9, what colours pups do an orange roan and a golden cocker generally make?
Is there a chance that a chocolate can come out of that litter?

Post by: Jane S on April 25, 2012, 10:45:19 PM: Depends entirely on what colours the parents carry - a knowledgable breeder ought to have a fairly good idea if there is liver behind both parents which could come through. As to what colours this kind of mating is likely to produce, again the breeder should be able to tell you - the litter could all be solids (if the solid parent doesn't carry the particolour gene) or could be a mix of solids and particolours (roan and/or and white) if the solid parent does carry the parti gene. I'm guessing this must be a working strain litter as generally show type breeders don't often mix solid and particolours together.

Post by: Chezer on June 14, 2012, 06:29:35 PM: Lol they had a mixture of Orange roans but there was one tri colour and one black, sadly I couldn't have one as they were all boys oh they had one girl but they were keeping her. So I am still searching :(
