which isn't hard ph34r
I was just browsing on the kennel club website at cocker puppies available and noticed a breeder advertising a litter of...
"3 girls,mainly white with a little black,well socialised,many FTCH in pedigree".
Someone enlighten me,i've never seen a white working strain cocker,do they exist or is the breeder dodgey.

The ad says "mainly white with a little black" - I'm reading that as a description of the pups markings & wouldn't say it's all that unusual, you do get black & whites with hardly any black markings (in both strains) but they're not white dogs as such, it's just there is more white than black, if you see what I mean ;)

I saw a black and white, though mostly white cocker pup in PAH today - he was super cute! There are relatives of Rio that are mostly white to.

I know you are initially talking about working but my Rosie who is actually black white and tan is predominantly white (http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af5/HollyBerry_photo/Rosie/64a9a5e0.jpg) she has a small black patch on her other side and tan on the underside of her ears and small tan freckles on her nose and tan under her tail.

I know a working Cocker brother and sister, lemon and white, both of whom are predominantly white with just a few lemon patches.

Thanks all,i'm now no longer confused. :005:
Shame the breeder doesn't include "working strain" in the description for those that are more clueless than i am on more than just colour :-\

The puppies white colouring may change as they mature & eventually have the 'roan' effect :-\
Nina (although not a worker) was predominantly white when she was a pupster & now at 5yrs old has some roan on her back
It shows on the pic below....

just as a little clue...FTCH means field trial champion and is normally attributed to working strain, SHCH mean show champion and would be attributed to show strain... hope this helps xx
edit....just realised that you know this...ooops sorry xxxx hahahaah

His markings developed on his ears as he grew older but I don't think I've ever seen a 'whiter' working cocker pup :D

Hi,
Bailey is ours - he is now 4 1/2 and still the love of our lives :)
It's funny seeing the pictures as a puppy, he has grown so much!
Here is a link of some photos I posted when he was 2ish....he hasn't changed much -
