Title: rain rain go away!...raincoat??!
Post by: sarahm2008 on September 24, 2012, 08:46:58 AM
Ok I thought I would NEVER be asking or even contemplating this but have any of your dogs got raincoats??! Sandon hates the rain and absolutely refuses to go out, I try to tempt him with treats  but nothing is getting him out the door for his walk, which is a pest when I need to leave him for a few hours! I wondered if a raincoat might help?!

Lots of us have come to the same conclusion !!  It's no fun cleaning soggy dogs off either

There has recently been a thread on this subject if you want to have a look, I have found it for you

This is what I have been thinking, last time I had a dog there wasn`t things like this around!!! However, I also have a problem where Rosie wont even go out into the garden to go to toilet. She would rather do it inside!!!!

I never thought I would get Darwin a waterproof coat.  He loves putting it on, and wearing in the house but will completely refuses to even walk off the drive wearing it.  He'll stand there shaking,  I've tried everything to persuade him it's OK, but nothing works.  As soon as you remove it he's happy to walk.

Me neither, until one walk when he was so wet and engrained with grit that he needed a bath, and I thought I can't be bathing him every time I take him for a walk. He has a hurtta pro overall now and you do get a few funny looks but I don't care. We go home, dry his feet and voila - it's soo easy, especially if they have long or thick fur :)

Jinley has one that I bought from ebay, Pampered Pets - they do a camouflage one now as well.

Here is a picture of her wearing it - great when only walking through the streets.

In our opinion Hurtta do great coats.  Not cheapest but definitely one of the best.

Bella and Poppy have a rain cost type one and thick winter one each

I to like Hurta waterproof overalls for the really wet weather & they also do a fleece all in one as well ideal for the snow.

Equa fleece are great to

Think my dogs have a wardrobe of coats as Jodie has to have different ones to fit her harness loop as well  :005:

But the cost is worth it if you are trying to keep 4 cockers dry

Jenson has a Three Peaks rambler coat from PAH.  It doesnt cover as much as a Hurtta would, but it seems to work pretty well for rainy walks.  My boy finds it very comfortable and its quite a bright red which looks smashing against his black coat.   :luv:    They also wash and dry really easily.  Only thing is no cover over the belly so he gets muddy as ever!
Oh and it only cost £10.99  :D

www.medicanimal.com have got an offer on, 10% off your first order and I found them the cheapest for Hurrta coats anyway  :luv:

Look under accessories and then coats

That was the main reason I chose the one I did - Jinleys belly seems to get soaking wet even from walking!!
