Hot cross bun warning.
« on: February 28, 2011, 03:26:04 PM »
Haven't been about much as hubby's redundancy meant an increase in hours for me ( :-\), but just wanted to post a warning. Grapes have been discussed on another thread, but we are just back from the vet after having to take Penny to have vomiting induced after scoffing a hot cross bun (M & S so pretty high in fruit!). Thanks to COL I knew of the dangers, we were there within 15 mins. and she was sick twice so they're pretty confident no harm done, but something to be aware of with Easter approaching.....as if it's not hard enough keeping them away from the chocolate.

Oh dear, the minute you slice a hot cross bun Ellie is there, she absolutely loves them, she has done now for 6 years. She only has a little tiny bit, but if they are so dangerous we will have to not have them.

So glad Penny is alright.

Poor Penny, glad she is OK :luv: and good that you were aware of the dangers and acted so fast.  Sometimes we need eyes in the back of our heads with these wily hounds!
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

Thanks for the advice.

I didn't know that they shouldn't eat raisins or grapes! Diesel's never had any but I'm grateful for the info.

Are there any other foods that should never be given to dogs? I know chocolate's a definate no no! xx
