Filling him up
« on: August 11, 2015, 06:54:12 PM »
Can anyone help.  I am looking for a dry food, wheat free and hypoallergenic that will also make Archie feel full.  He seems constantly starving to the extreme and it is starting to ware me down.  He doesn't have worms just doesn't seem to register full.  He would literally eat until physically sick.  He is on skinners field and trial duck and rice.  Any help would be great

Have you thought of adding vegetables, sometimes it helps to bulk the food out?

How dose his weight look, dose he need more or is he just a greedy Cocker ?

He has always been slim, but I don't think this is anything to do with it.  He just doesn't seem to notice he has eaten so I wondered if there were certain foods that made them feel fuller than others.  He has inflammatory bowel disease

Yes, veg is a good filler if he is greedy rather than actually needing more food  ;)  If he is eating his food quickly and then looking for more, you could try making him work for it by putting it in a puzzle ball or scattering it around the garden to slow him down.

Coco has a carrot every day as she is a greedy girl and always looking for food - she loves them  :D

Yes Archie loves Carrots and has 1-2 large ones a day.  he gets raw vegetables.  I think he has a K9 version of prada willy syndrome lol except he is slim
