Known him years, and he knows us well enough to be totally honest in what he says - he doesn't sugar coat, or give false hope - but he has a very good bed side manner - most of all, I trust him - he's known Morgan since he was 7weeks nad 6 days old.

In that case the best thing is to discuss it with your vet and make your own decision :shades:

I'm so sorry. You need to find out if the cancer is primary or secondary as that will determine where you go with this. If primary a splenectomy can be performed if it is a secondary cancer then my own personal opinion would be to leave alone and just treat symptoms.

A diet for cancer sufferers can help prolong life and cancer is known to thrive on a high carbohydrate diet and so if you switch him to a higher protein higher fat diet (or if he has kidney problems just a low carb diet) it can help.

Thinking of you.

I have no experience of treating cancer in dogs, sorry. Your vet sounds great, I'm sure he'll give you good advice.  :bigarmhug: for Morgan.

I'm so sorry to hear the news about Morgan.

The most important thing is his quality of life.  How will he be affected by chemotherapy?  Will it lead to a cure, and will he have a normal life?  If your vet can give a positive response to these then I would go ahead.

It's an awful decision to make as we want our pets to live forever.
