Avise again please.
« on: March 27, 2011, 07:17:10 PM »
I may be worrying unecessarily about Lily but I am not sure what to do. She seems depressed quiet not full of life. She is off her food and after short bursts of excercise seems exessively out of breath. I took her to the vets last week but felt foolish vet just gave tablets for water infection and ear drops. I am not satisfied with vet and am considering taking her somewhere else but dont want to seem like I am fussing about nothing please help. Thank you.

How old is Lily?  Could she be coming into season?  :shades:
The symptoms sound similar to my girls when they are at varying stages of their season.  :shades:

also the water infection along with her ears could be causing her to not be her normal self.  :-\
if it was me i would give her another couple of days & see how she is then.  If you are not happy though perhaps consider taking her to a different vets.  :-\  is there anyone that could recommend an alternative vet locally?  :shades:

You know your dog and if you think things are not right you have every right to ask for a second opinion or go elsewhere. If they tested for water infection and it was positive then these can be fairly painful for them and so she probably would be a bit down in the dumps .I hope she is soon feeling more herself.Good luck .

They tested her water and found a slight increase in the protein level. I understand that it must be hard being a vet as they can only talk to the owner but I still feel there is something wrong can dogs get depressed sounds unlikely but that is how she seems.
