I am so glad I have read this thread.  My last cocker was very petite at 9.5 kilos and when I lost her I wanted another just like her.  When breeders used to say 'the puppies are really chunky' it put me off as I thought they were going to grow into huge cockers, which at the time I didn't want.  I am glad I know what it means now.

Anne was a chunky pup, and grew up to be very lithe; Jeff was a "normal" pup and is now quite chunky   ;)

Darwin was the chunkiest out of his litter, but now at nearly 3 1/2 yrs I can guarantee he's the leanest / smallest.  He's less than 10kg.

But then my nearly 13yr was chunky as a tot.  Now I really wish some weight would stick to him. - "More Meat on a butchers Pencil" is the best way of describing him.
