Am I allowed to put a picture of them up??

No, I'm afraid no litter photos.

Nicola's right - you could post photos on the Safe Arrivals board but only if you meet our conditions for posting. If you do, then just send me a PM with more info including details of the health test results for both parents

As far as the KC's naming service is concerned, I've seen litters where this has been done and the names tend to be quite boring and bland. Naming a litter is one of the fun parts of breeding so I'd make up your own names if possible. You can check if your names would be acceptable by using this link (although names can still be rejected later even if they appear ok): http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/services/public/namecheck/Default.aspx.

I have been using the name checker. Think I need to change the theme we were looking at. :shades:

Our first litter 6 years ago all began with an A so this year when Bliss had a litter we moved to B but again based on shooting estates.  Managed to get all our first choices, it is quite a task having to pick x2 names for each puppy but involve kids, friends, and if you are lucky enough to have got new owners ask them what they'd like.  Themes that friends have followed are Poets, Sweets, Red Indian tribes (sorry native americans!).

Our last litter were born over the jubilee weekend so we tried to stick to that theme.
I think once you have decided on a theme the names just flow.

When my parents registered their Golden Retriever, they took the first letter of their name and my sister and my names (SPAR) then the last three letters of their surname (DAN)  and finished up with Spardan Sunshine and Spardan Champagne.

I thought it was rather nice using family member names

Sorry to be a party pooper but while everyone is welcome to suggest themes for Jussy & give general advice on naming, we'd rather she didn't provide details about how many pups & what genders they are ;)

Thanks

I liked how Rio's breeder chose the pups names. The litter was all Affix, Makin'... Then all the puppy owners were asked to choose the second bit. So they were all.. Makin'

Merry
Waves (Rio - very aptly named  :005: )
Magic
Trouble
Tracks

Sophie (collie)'s litter were named mostly after their colours. Sophie is 'Holly's Sophie Blue' and others in her litter were 'Singing the Blues' and 'Rhythm and Blues'.

I must have read the kc naming guide lines wrong,as i thought you couldn't repeat a word in the same litter !!!!

No you can't generally but if you have an affix/kennel name, they do let you repeat descriptive words - it's only if you don't have an affix that they are more strict (otherwise they'd be letting people who haven't paid for an affix use a word as if it was one)

Why dont you allow your puppy buyers the chance to name them 'if they are already sold'  ph34r , I do that and it saves alot of debate in the family as I always say one partner choose the pet name and the other the Kc name it involves the puppy buyer and gives a personal touch and fun for the family concerned.  I did it this time around and quite surprising a few of them went for a Jubilee theme  ;)

Jinleys litter mates were all named after American and Canadian Rivers - Missy Sippi, Orinoco Flo, Hudson etc etc

Owners then chose their "at home" names if they wanted something else.

Ooo how exciting! Is there a theme or let loose? Indie's litter theme was alcoholic beverages  :005: with the breeders affix being bartonwarren (half of the name of the village and her surname) Soindie is bartonwarren limocello. I can only remember her black and tan sisters name and that was bartonwarren margarita!  :005:
