A good old cocker yawn......

Does anyone elses yawn loudly? 

This is one of my highlights of having Bella and Poppy........makes me smile every time

Oh, Henry has the squeakiest, cutest yawn ever, too! It makes my heart melt

William has a really loud and long yawn. He does it at training when we're waiting our turn to do something and makes everyone laugh

But I know that yawning is often done by dogs to relieve stress, so although William seems to be very happy and focussed when we're training I worry that he may find it stressful? He's always pleased to go in to the hall and say hello to all his human and dog friends and he seems enthusiastic and confident when we're doing things, so why the yawning? It's a fun but relaxed class, usually about 8 dogs, and all very friendly.

Elaine, you are right that yawning is one way they relieve stress. It is also a calming signal, meaning something they do to you to calm you (or another dog) down. Maybe he thinks you are anxious?!

But back on topic, a cocker yawn is the cutest thing, especially if accompanied by a cat- like stretch!

Mine doesn't do the woowoowoo yet He does do a very cute raaorw raaorw raaorw though, (I think it's a sign of boredom or irritation - sometimes is singy, sometimes more growly! A man asked me if he was in pain the other day when he did it, but he was just waiting for daddy to return).

Riley sounds like a cat when he yawns,  also he has a really cute nervous woof, woof woof, woof woof woof. His little jowls wobble when he does it.

Ozzy doesn't make much noise when he yawns, but I love the little contented squeaking noise he makes when he gets picked up for a cuddle!!
He also has a very fierce woof when something has startled him and he's pretending to be brave!!

Thomas (9months) makes a lovely yawn 1st thing in the morning as he wakes, puts a smile on my face every morning but what makes me laugh,  he's just started wooo woo woo ing at ambulances as they go past and he looks so proud as he does it!!!!
