How To Get Smilie In Column?

Please could someone tell me how you get the smilie in the little column and the side of the posting box?

When you start a new thread or post a reply, down the screen there is a field called Post Icons. Select the one you want to appear next to your post, and click Add as usual. I've not done it yet, so I'll test it with this post...

Edited to add: oh yes, to get it in the column, you need to do this when starting off the new thread

When you create a new post, you get the option to add a Post Icon.
This box is after the box which you type your post text into.
