Just wondering, but do they need to be given hormones so they matured?

Not as far as I know - it's not the same as in affected humans when hormone treatments are often used.

Thanks for that. I had a cousin who was born with both bits so to speak. She was deemed to be a female and so she was - untill puberty. Poor lass her voice broke and she had male pattern hair growth :( I was too young to understand anything back then, she was just my cousin and I didnt know any different. Sadly she died at 16 and Whenever I see programmes about hermaphrodites I often wonder how it was they decided she was to be a girl

Oh, Caroline, thats really sad..... :(  I think its still a poorly understood condition in humans and animals.....Its a shame that more research isn't done; especially if irresponsible pet breeding is going to lead it to be more prevelant

In humans it is common for people of both genders to become resistant to oestrogen so it is likely that they would be more male than female although both organs rarely function like they should. I suppose the only real way of telling what sex the poor things are most like is when they grow up and what their personalities are like. Its great to see that they are being home vetted for already. Cockers dont last long in rescues at least thats some comfort!

A friend of mine bred a litter of cockers, all went to their new homes......ended up Jess went in for neutering when he was 14 months old and ended up being spayed!  But he's absolutely fine, luckily the name Jess fits both male and female  :)

Although it was a shock to his/her owners they had always said from the beginning that he was too pretty to be a dog, looked more girlie.

Don't say that :o  I tell Disney that every day as do most of our clients

We had a border collie in last year that was to be spayed and it wasn't until she was on the table that the vets noticed she had some 'he' bits too ;)  I saw her the other week and she was absolutely fine

I think my mum is having Kissme, the black and tan breeding bitch at Many Tears. She's just emailed me to say if everything goes to plan, she'll be collecting her on Sunday!

I think she'll keep it. I hope it all goes to plan. Aparently there was huge interest in her, but mum kept pestering with emails and phone calls. Keep your collective fingers crossed for her...please
I go on holiday on Saturday, so I'll post some pics when we get back.

Ooooh I'm so excited now (((((bouncing of the walls))))
