How Famous Is My Dog?

I purchased a ring clip a few weeks back from a guy on ebay - the picture of the cocker spaniel was not very nice he said I could provide my own photograph - so i did I was very pleased with the ring clip.  HOWEVER I have just been looking on ebay at the cocker spaniel items AND GUESS WHAT he is selling the ring clip with Finley picture in it - how do I stand with this, it a bit unfair for other people to buy a picture of my dog and do they really want a picture of Finley???

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I am sort of flattered - however it's my picture, I feel the least he could have done was asked permission to use it.

I agree with you Wendy. Though I'm not sure what you could do about it, even if you thought it was worth the hassle.

Could you agree that he pay you a one-off amount for the use of the photo?

If you took the photo of Finley & didn't release the copyright, this chap shouldn't have used the photo for further ring clips without your permission - the laws on copyright are pretty strict in this respect. It is flattering this seller wants to use the photo but not asking permission is darn rude at the very least  I'd contact the seller & suggest you come to some arrangement if he wants to continue using the photo, such as a one-off payment like Annette suggests

Wendy. Most people who send me photographs allow me to use their example for my next listing, consider it removed from my files. Sorry for the inconvenience. Regards Brian

So how do people know he is using their examples for his next listing if he does not contact them??

Wheres the link to one of the auctions? would be interesting to look back at other ringclips and see if he does it with everyone or stops when they complain

If you go into cocker spaniel ring clip (item no 4990438834) you will find it.  If you want to look for other breed ring clips just put in ring clips and you will get quite a few comming up.

Just had a look and nowhere does it ask permission or refer to using photos that have been sent to him.  Very naughty!!
You can complain to Ebay about this!
