I don't think you give yourself enough credit  ;)   The photos are fab.  The one on the narrowboat is beautiful.  Mind you when you have something so lovely to work with it must make it a lot easier.  ;)  :D

As I said before your dog is fab, but i am also partial to working cockers they are not as glam as thier show cousins but they are  definately very photogenic.

Hi

Jarvis is soo cute  :D  Your pics are really sharp, all the close ones that I take of Ghillie are out of focus.   I have Ghillie who is also 16wks she is a working cocker as well.

i use a fuji finepix s7000 - purchased as i design and make jewellery, so needed a decent camera to take photo's of my work for my website which is still not done

still haven't mastered jewellery photo's but really happy with most jarvis pics :D

and yes, jarv is a very happy and content little boy and has an incredibly sweet nature, very biddable (so far).  We really wanted a working cocker, and are so happy with him.  Not that show cockers are 2nd best AT ALL, but working cockers are our preference.

will be very interested to talk to other working cocker owners on the site and compare notes!!!

thanks for the warm welcome, can see myself spending far too many hours here

Jarv is a stunner (and the name is fab) too. What sort of jewellery do you design? I'm a fan of anything large and silver!! And it seems young Scooter is too (everytime I bend down to cuddle him he tries to chomp on my pendant! The tinker!

He looks so lovely with that apple! Gorgeous photos.

Being a bit ignorant here, but what are the differences between working and show cockers?

hi there - my understanding of the working cocker 'type'  is that  working c's tend to have broader, flatter heads rather than the domed shape of the show cocker.  There is a lot of disparity about how the 'breed' came about, and if you go way back I'm sure there was  'crossing' with springers along the way.  the also get confused with the 'field' spaniel (and i won't even go into that as i'm not that knowledgable!!!)

From the working cockers i have known, they have shorter coats, are more 'sporty'looking and  athletic (with the energy that goes with the frame!) than their show cousins.  The ears are shorter as well, although that may be a consequence of the flatter heads (i'm really NOT calling you flathead jarvis, honestly...).

there are some working cocker breeders on here that will have a better grasp than i do - needless to say, all cockers are wonderful whether show or working :D

wow!  jarvis in a years time?  He does look so much like uncle ruffy already (they must be related!!!)

out of interest - how big is ruffy??   being nosey really but also because from the photo ruffy looks quite compact (even for a working cocker) and I think jarv is heading that way too...
