Indie has two lumps behind his ear

about the size of a pea. Him and the neighbours dog regularly wrestle and play together (they love chasing each other and playing, it can get rough) and I'm wondering if it's maybe a wee scratch that's got infected. I don't really want to take him into the vets this morning, I know they are all busy today.

I'm thinking I can get him seen on Monday, do you think it's ok?

If they're not obviously sore or weeping or anything particularly yucky which could show a nasty infection - then it could prob wait until Monday. Will give his own system chance to have a go too :wink:

I would just have a really good look - not a good prod though - to check there's nothing in there that needs to be taken out - and perhaps bath with salt water to keep it clean.

Are they hard lump or something like a boil?

It could be a insect bite, maybe, or like you said your neighbours dog has caught him, could you not just phone your vet for an opinion, save you worrying all weekend! :?

Thanks Pam, have bathed him and checked them again, still the same sort of swollen red lumps, look like spots. Will take him into work on Monday and get the vet to check him over.

I was going to say insect bites as well. Mind you my two occasionally get lumps there from cat scratches (cuffed round the ear for being too cheeky).

Always best to get them checked out though.
