We took Buddy camping to the Yorkshire Dales last week. When we arrived he was as good as gold while we put the tent up etc - just sitting patiently. After we'd set up camp etc we played with him as you do - but whenever we went near his lower back he yelped and pulled away clearly in pain
. He struggled with lifting his leg that evening and long story short we took him to a local vet - who was wonderful. She gave him a good examination and thought he'd strained his back and prescribed metacam. This was last Wednesday.
He's been on the metacam since then and does not seem to be in pain but there is definitely something odd with his back end. He walks funny - banging his rear feet down and he still can't lift his leg - he tries but falls over bless him.
He's struggling to climb and seems to walk funny not with a nice straight back at all.
I can't think of anything he's done where he might have injured himself and in other terms he seems fine and dandy. We are going to go to our own vets with him today to see if they have any thoughts.
I'll let you know how we get on
