Wilf Again, Misbehaves At Dog Show
« on: June 12, 2005, 09:49:35 PM »
Went to the Dogs trust dog show (Bridgend) today with my two and a couple of friends (with other dogs than cockers who behaved!). Put Wilf in for the most handsome male dog, and while he didn't get a place he stole a packet of jaffa cakes from someone's carrier bag near the ring as compensation. Words like 'typical' and 'embarrassing' spring to mind.

The last show we went to in Hereford he managed to open the zip of someone's handbag and steal the dog treats out of it, oooops (thankfully I knew the woman who owned the bag).

Cheeky little monkey

Disney is well impressed though - he is forever stealing things out of bags. He's not managed anything as yummy as jaffa cakes though - mostly boring fruit ;)

Can't say I blame him for stealing jaffa cakes, they are my fave!

Bella is also good at undoing zips on bags and she stole and demolished my MP3 player 2 weeks ago. My bag was on a chair, zipped up, and she'd undone that zip plus the side pocket zip inside where the MP3 was, the little minx. Wouldn't have minded quite so much if she hadn't demolished my partner's MP3 player the week before after nicking it off the living room table... Needless to say anything like remote controls, mobiles, any kind of small valuable is being put very high up out of her way - so she has returned to shaking the clothes horse to get the bra's and knickers to fall off the top rung

Good for you Wilf !!

Pity that Jaffa Cakes aren't Class 1 narcotics, otherwise you could no doubt get a very lucrative job at your nearest airport .....  makes you realise how clever these little doggy people are !!

All the sniffer dogs I ever see on the TV are Springers but my Vet said some time ago that she had a patient who was a Cocker in the employ of HM Forces or similar who was either a drug sniffer or money/explosives etc ...... probably at one of the remand centres round here ...  Ok, go for it babe - find the Claymore and you get a marrowbone !!!  Yet they are their Handlers' bestest friends as well, and family dogs .....

Mind you, mine only go ballistic if we secrete salami chews somewhere - perhaps we should try to train them to do something functional like finding niffy socks (under beds etc) and then popping them into the washer !!!

I watched You've Been Framed at the weekend and there was a dog picking up rubbish and putting it in the bin in its local park ... clever but yeuch for the dog !!  The one I thought was the loveliest was the dog who came into the bedroom, and 'said his prayers' at the end of the bed, before getting in and laying its head on the pillow, and then pulling the blanket over itself !!!!  Doooohhh!

Pepsi says well done to Wilf. All she ever manages to get is a rather tasteless purse, the lipstick (yuck) or a tissue. She thinks he's rather clever, if somewhat cheeky!!

Buddy says "what's a handbag?"

Dumb dog hasn't found mine yet even though it's low and on the route to the garden. Mmmm perhaps I should move it just in case he reads this.

Well done Wilf - good taste boy! :P
