I finally found chicken wings, bought three packs, and Indie won't touch them!

Any tips?

He was scooting for the first time ever this morning, so I was keen to have him having the wings, but no go so far.

I broke one up for Ruby by hand and eventually she ate it and there's no stopping her now

Hi Shona,
try slicing through the skin and exposing the flesh a bit.  Some dogs do take a while to know what to do with them

Nope no preparation needed..he might look at it funny and perhaps do a little dance !! I give my dog his to eat outside otherwise I would be doing the same as Laura...just keep a little eye on him at first
good luck and let me know how he got on

Well, I too have gone the chicken wing route with Piper today  :D  :D

She appeared to be quite pleased with what I placed before her and after a couple of seconds sniffing   crunched her way through the lot  :)

I feed her 21/2 oz of Autarky with 2/8ths of Nature Diet or 1 0z cooked mince mixed in for her breakfast and if things work out will feed chicken wings for dinner.

I have read up a lot on natural feeding and debated it for a while - hubby's face was a picture when I placed a bowl of chicken wings in front of Piper this afternoon

A friend of mine feeds her German Shepherd the Barf diet and swears by it and she is delighted I am trying the chicken wings.  I think she encounters some negativity from her vet though

Can't wait to check Piper's pooh tomorrow

My attempt was abit of a disaster.  I put the chicken wing in front of her, and she was going mad throwing it about, but couldn't eat it. Then we tried to cut the skin off first, but ended up mutilating the actual wing, and i was paraniod about there not being enough meat on it, that we gave up, and i gave her a small bowl of cooked chicken breast instead to keep her happy.

we may try it again, but i think i failed. maybe shes a touch too young for it.

BTW..What is scooting?

Hi Louise glad piper has taken to the chicken wings and that you are seeing a change in his poo already thats great   It does take a while to convert to raw feeding and like yourself the best thing is to do research before you take the plunge but well done you  I know most vets dissaprove and this has probably got something to do with the fact that people do not need to visit them so often ...I last took my scoobie to the vet 11 months ago prior to that on average once a month so I will never go back to commercial simply because it suits my dog but it's all about personal choice
