Run like the wind or toodle along????
« on: May 09, 2004, 07:12:10 AM »
Some Cockers 'Run like the Wind' - whilst others prefer the more sedate practice of 'Toodling Along'  :D

My Piper at almost 1 year old, is definitely a 'Toodler'  :?   Running dead fast is her least favourite thing  :?

What does your Cocker prefer?

Lottie trots along fairly briskly actually but smells dictate her pace really

She does like a good run though.  I'm sure she purposely pursues a good sniff for longer than required just so that I get a good distance away from her.  I can see she's watching me from the corner of her eyes just waiting for me to call her cos she reacts immediately when I do. :D

I just love watching her tearing towards me with those ears flapping and I'm sure she's got a huge smile on her face too

Brook is very much a toodler - he was like that even in his younger days. In saying that he does occasionally have a little spurt of energy but thats as far as he goes.  Vegas prefers running like the wind - as soon as hes off the lead, he just tears around to his hearts content. Its lovely to see - like Mary says, the ears flap and they do smile, I swear I've seen it  Dallas does just whatever Vegas does

Indie's a runner. Off lead, ears flapping, drooling, and smiling. I love watching him from behind run down a hill, as his wee legs look like they can't keep up!

Hi,
Tia will trot and sniff etc until she poo's . She speeds off afterwards - the relief!!
I also love her speeding towards me from a distance - great sight.
The other thing that astonishes me is that she can be running along at quite a pace, nose gets a scent, front stops and the back is still going and she comes to a halt facing the opposite way to the way she was running

Please help me raise £1000 for MAGGIE'S CENTRES
Thanks!

Brogan has very similar antics to Lottie - runs along - catches a scent and does an about turn skid - he then zig-zags all over the place - then runs like the clappers to catch me up again! His nose governs his pace - oh and he has learnt to cock his leg = that has slowed him down recently  Every blade of grass needs wetting - just helping  to water the plants of course

Jazz is a definate runner.  She waits behind then comes pounding towards us. I like watching her run ahead, as her bum bounces up and down , its so funny to watch.

Mine do both depending on where we are

Boysie's the same.
On familiar ground he is a toodler, lagging behind and can be sooo slow.
Somewhere new, or not visted often he is the opposite - out front and dashing about.

I can vouch for that!!!!!! Indie would give a grey hound a run for his money

Blue is a toodler, he likes to take everything in, nose to the ground and a waggle of the bum, chilled and laid back!  :D
