New Homes Needed
« on: November 12, 2004, 11:49:55 AM »
I have just heard of two 3 year old boys needing a new home - ideally together.
They are available due to a marriage break up  :(
One is Golden & the other Black & Tan, they have been together since they were 8 week old pups.
Prospective homes & owners will, of course, be vetted.
These boys will be experiencing stress, at the moment, so only serious, dedicated people will be considered.
Any enquiries to :

Whereabouts are these two.

Have you asked cocker rescue if they know of anyone, as I know in some regions they have more prospective owners than dogs

Thanks, but I think I'll leave it just here for the time being, the owners are also trying to find them a home  :)

I hope they find a good home. I'd take them myself, but my hands are full with my 3.
My first cocker was a recue, and she had serious issues, so I appreciate that only dedicated people are needed.
Good luck boys.

One thing I feel I must point out (and sorry for using your post Karen to hang this on) is that many, many cocker rescues don't have issues that an experienced cocker owner would not be able to cope with - once they are walked on a regular basis, and given the correct mental stimulation.  Most come into rescue because the owners have no idea that the cute puppy they bought was a working breed and needs exercise and attention.  Many don't have issues at all - their owners become ill or for some other reason, can't keep them.

Dogs being rehomed from a previous good home have a remarkable ability to settle very quickly with a new best friend - as much as we may hate the fact that our much beloved will be happy with someone else. In fact, the owner should take it as a compliment!

I'm fostering two yorkies at the moment (8 yo boy and 15 yo girl - son and mother) who have been with their now elderly and ill owner from pup (15 yo) and one from birth (8 yo).  They have settled with me immediately and are not pining at all.  A relative of the owner was told by a rescue to pts the 15 yo because she was too old to be rehomed and would not be happy.  This is nonsense - she is a happy dog who will settle very well in a new home with her son.

I just want to add to this post and say to any prospective owners not to be put off by a rescue cocker.  Im the owner of the lovely Jake and he settled in very quickly and is very happy.

I havent found him to be a problem and he really is a well loved member of my family.

I'm not sure, but I of course asked about any vices & was told none.
If you or your friend is interested I can give you a contact number.  :)

hi

id love both boys but have a beautiful english setter and feel that two cockers would be too much for her as she is a very timid dog. shes wll socialised and loves other dogs very much hence id love a little friend for her. if there was one id have taken him on.

my friend is however intrested in both, shes home all day and has two children. shes asked if she could have a contact number

many thanks
