When Will She Have First Season

Jurra is 5 months tomorrow 1st Jan and we were just wondering when she might be likely to have her first season, as Taliska is not "done" so will have to be v careful and get her spayed?

None of mine have had their first season before 1yrs old, but of course it depends on the bitch and her lines. A bitch can have her first season anytime between 6 months to 2yrs.
There's only one, -but that one is a lion

Both of my girls had their first seasons at about 6 months old give or take a few days.

I think it varies greatly. but solids tend to come in  earlier than parti's, Buttons was 14 months before her 1st but my friends cocker was 21 months.

When Sasha had her first season the first thing we noticed was a local male collie sitting on the doorstep

The signs can vary too.

Lottie has only just had her first season and she is 27 months

The only sign we had was that her privates were quite swollen for a few weeks before hand.

Some have no signs at all yet others lick themselves more than usual, have changes in appetite or changes in mood ;)

I had litter sisters, one had a season at 8 months, the other at 14 months. So you never can tell.

Lottie is 9 months this week and she hasn't had her first season yet.....and I havent noticed any changes with her. I guess I'll just have to watch carefully...particularly when she is offlead. It sounds like seasons can be very variable......I think Goldie was about a year with her first, but it's a lot of years ago now.

Bella is 6 months and has not had her season yet. The black lab I had years ago was 18 months old, but I think the bigger the dog later they mature.

Cant wait for Bella to have hers so I can get her spayed.
