Season Inhibiting Injections

Is it true you can get bitches injected to prevent them coming into season?

Has anyone any experience of these?

Before we make the final Boy Vs Girl decision about 'pup' I have read the pros and cons of spaying/neutering in FAQ's but wondered if there was an alternative to avoid seasons in bitches.

Yes there is...don't get a bitch  :wink:
I seriously haven't had any problem at all when Butty had her season    It's part and parcel of having a bitch really...nor do I plan on getting her speyed as I have no reason to  :wink:  If you think it will be a problem for you or your lifestyle then I would consider a dog rather than a bitch

I totally agree with Gilly, if you are not sure about a bitch in season it might be better to get a dog.

I have always had bitches and have not had a problem with messes or roaming dogs, to be honest I've not heard about injections to prevent a season but I don't fancy it if there is one!! No way!

The injections aren't really recommended for long term use. They are fine for putting the odd season off, say if it coincided with a holiday for example, but if an in season bitch isn't going to be suitable for your lifestyle, you would either have to have her spayed or go for a boy :wink:

ive used this once on my last bitch she never came in season again and the vet wanted to spey her after for some reason  :?
