Hmmm!  I can't see why ' food possessive ' means no kids or cats.

I have 4 kids, 3 cats ( and a number of other furries ), neither are around the dogs when food is given - not through them being food possessive but if we eat in peace so do the other animals i have!!
Cats are fed in different room to dogs but at the same time - mostly because the dogs love the cat food and the cats love the dog food!!

Tia has been food possessive at times in the past but i have worked through this with her and she is fine now.

Don't think the picture did the poor boy justice though!  Not biased at all cos i would love a golden.

Although will give slightly that a very young child wouldn't be a good thing to have around a dog like that - but older ones who are able to listen - why not!

I agree..It seemed a bit silly to rule out older children.
Quite a few dogs are food possessive, it shouldn't be something that can't be handled correctly.

Millie has food aggression. We've got a 2 year old, 11 year old and 3 cats. The thing is, we know how to handle it. There are things you can do to help the situation too. My 11 year old feeds Millie (under supervision).

I think they're just covering their backs. I feel an experienced cocker owner could cope with this guy.

I've just looked at Louis again. He looks so like Millie. Do you think there is any point in getting in touch with Last Chance to offer this guy a home?

As I mentioned, we have kids and cats, but have still managed to cope with food aggressive Millie.

I don't want to get my hopes up. At the same time, it would be a shame for this boy to miss out on a home where we understand food aggression.

Hubby quite rightly says that 2 food aggrssive dogs would be a nightmare!

I think it would be worth ringing up and speaking to them. Someone with Cocker experience might be able to get them to dig a bit deeper with thier explanations.

I spoke to them some time ago and they seemed like reasonable people, after all, they want what's best for the dogs  :)

I had two food aggressive dogs here for a little while and we fed them in separate rooms. But I already have two at the moment so it would be a bit of a handfull for me  :(

Yup, you're right. She's been really honest about the issues he has too. Poor woman :(

Did you notice she mentions the previous owner too? So this guy looking for at least his 3rd home.

Hope you gets the right one soon....poor lad
