West Midlands meet
« on: March 12, 2004, 11:26:28 PM »
Would anyone like to meet up? I know it was being discussed before and Ziggy has also joined too, so there would be a few of us. I was thinking about Sutton Park if people can get there? If not, any other ideas? It would be lovely to meet people (and of course, the dogs too   ).

sounds good to me - we're in Telford - not sure where Sutton Park is - but I'm sure with the use of auto route and the Birmingham A - Z I'd find it :)

As another idea how about Cannock Chase?

Hi,

I know I'm in Leicester and hence, technically, in the East Midlands, but my parents live in Aldridge (Tilly's favourite holiday home!) and I have spent many happy hours walking my springers in both Sutton Park and on Cannock Chase when I still lived at home.  I would love to join in a get-together as I could combine it with a visit to the Old Folks (lots of Brownie points if I take Tilly too, you see!)  So, if you could accept an interloper from the East Midlands, please count me in too!  Just to note the provisional date for the East Mids Get-Together is 4th April, so I would not be able to make that.

Cheers,

Sue

Although realistically it's unlikely I would be able to come as I'm pretty booked up most weekends for the foreseeable future, I'd like to signal my interest too - I too could maybe visit family in Telford and Wolves  :D

Others who might be interested off the top of my head are T in Leicester, and Jen in Solihull?

There's Cbabe as well, but I haven't seen her around for a while; and I'm sure there's some peeps actually in Telford - I think there was a lady in Ironbridge

Ok - what date can we all make then?

We could do:

either day weekend 10th April (or even Good Friday)
either day weekend 1st May

We're going to the NW meet on 17th and a doggy walk with the dog owners from work on 24th - we're actually going to Cannock Chase so if anyone wants to join us there as well you're more than welcome!!
There'll be about 10 dogs and about 15 people on that one, we hope to find a doggy friendly pub for a bite to eat afterwards.

At a push we could do either day weekend 3rd April, but I'm on call for work, although I wouldn't have to go anywhere, just answer queries on the mobile, so it shouldn't be too big a problem.

What can anyone else make ?

Phil and I went for our first walk with Bleu in Sutton Park today. She had a great time mooching in all the leaves and undergrowth. We let her off the lead and she was as good as gold. :D  Saw another cocker there too.Sutton park is easiest for me as its only 5 mins away. I'm pretty flexible about dates as long as it's a weekend. Just need a bit of warning as Phil is dying to go kiteboarding again now the weather is getting warmer   so we usually go to the east coast every other weekend.

With a little bit of notice, Tina, Buster and myself could be tempted.
Cannack Chase would probably be the best for us.
Look forward to maybe meeting up soon.

Maybe we need to have a vote?
I don't actually know where cannock chase is, never been, Sutton Park is much easier for me, but I will go wherever the vote says

I think we need a vote, I'm easy either way
Where abouts is Sutton Park? Does anyone have a postcode or something so we can get a better idea of where it is?

****edited to add - it hink I just found it in my A to Z .. a huge green bit next to Walsall ... - its not too far away for us, probably about an hour, so it looks good for Sutton Park for us ***

What dates can everyone make?
