Hello all

Hello all,
I'm George and we own a 5 years-old female Eng.Cocker spaniel. I got her when she was 28 days old and all the family adors her :-) She is very sweet and kind. Our 20month old son plays hours with her. Well, for the time being, she is only a leaving toy for him... but I'm very impressed from the way they both communicate with each other!
Wish you all the best.

George.

Indeed I got her at a very early stage... the vet told me to wait until the 8th week, but I didn't listen to her.
Well... these are the things you do, when you don't know.

Thank you for the welcoming :-)

Hello George and family,

Welcome to COL :D .  I have a 14-month old black cocker called Tilly.  She is best friends with my daughter, aged 8.  I think dogs and children can form such a special bond, which is lovely to see.

Hello George and family,

Sue and Tilly

that's absolutely true. It's amazing. My son is still very young, and we need to keep an eye on him whenever he goes near her, because sometimes he things that Balu is a living toy... and treats her like that (!), but fortunately... either she just goes away or we get into the middle, showing him how to treat her. But we've noticed many times that Balu went and slept next to him or gave us a warning when he started to cry while being a newborn... amazing... And we never took her off our daily life... either while my wife was pregnant, or, when Nikolas came home as a newcomer. We showed her trust and, she gave it back to us in the best way :-) Needless to say that Nikolas is very happy and 'cool' while being between large breeds like Rotweilers, Alaskan Malamutes, German Shepherd (sorry for misspellings ;-) ) etc... of cource under our supervision.   :D  :D   And we're very happy to see that he's very keen and enthusiastic about all animals :D...

Well, Balu is also very keen on animals... sorry birds actually...sea-guls, ducks and chicken are like a red sheet for her... no wonder why! hehehe

take care all,
George.

hi george :D
welcome to cockers, i am a new member to, and everyone seems really friendly, and if you need any help or advice this is the place to be. I am still trying to work out how to do things like getting the pics on and some of the emoticons, the members have are great, and i would really like to have some of these, so i am hoping someone will let me know how to get my paws on them. I have a cocker to called elmo, he is 9months and we are waiting to get our orange roan home that was born earlier in the week, we are going to see him for the first time on tuesday, the breeder sent me a pic through to my e-mail and  he is gorgeous, look forward to chatting with you more, and really hope you enjoy the club, oh and i have four children, perhaps we can share stories or advice on that to, take care bunny and elmo xx woof
