im new to this site and new to cockers....

i have 4 month old girl cocker called spanna

and after reading this site realise i am just having normal "teething problems"...in fact shes not half bad...and im much more confident im on the right track  :D

we live in ibiza  and cant return to the uk until shes bloodtested clear for rabies   ....so that will not be until jan 05......i would be grateful for info from anyone whos actually been through the process of entering the uk under the system...it seems daunting... :?

its great to be able to talk and ask Q's in english as i have no spannish.

im just off to try and cut down a foto to use as our avatar

see you on site

Hi, welcome to COL.  Our dog Danny, and my parent's Misty both have their passports.  Although they got their passports in GB we have taken them to France and back (Misty has been lots of times).  We've never had any problems.  It seems to me that the difficult or complicated bit is getting all the medical stuff and paperwork done beforehand.  After that the actual travelling is really simple. I  think they still have to be treated for fleas, worms etc. between 24 and 48 hours of coming into GB.  This is usually done by injection and does leave our babies a bit sore, but nothing too awful.  Then they scan the microchip at the port (we've only ever travelled by ferry) and then off you go.  This may have changed a bit, and I'm no expert, but I hope it's a help.  You can always chat to your vet if s/he speaks English.
Love Becky, Danny and Ollie!
