Poorly Alfie :(
« on: January 10, 2005, 11:26:52 AM »
Hes been panting a lot over the weekend, at first we put it down to him being too hot as the heating was on full but then I started to worry about his heart and to be honest I speant most of the night in tears and had him dead and buried :( (my last boy died of a heart tumour)

So shaking like a leaf I took him to the vets this morning and thankfully its just a high tempeture of "unknown Origin"

He was a brave boy having his injection and only a little yelp from him while having his glands done( he was a tad smelly and yep they were full) Hes now lying at my feet sleeping peacefully.

Its taken this to make me realise how much he means to me. I worried that id never feel about him the way I did Gunnar but Im glad to say I do. I can honestly say I love him to bits

I know how you feel. I do that. Every time any of them are just not quite right I do what you did so its very natural (I always find its a way of our coping as it was horrendous when it happened before so its a way of preparing for the worst).

Hope Alfie's OK and his temp comes down soon and he feels more himself.

Aww poor Alfie - I hope that he feels better soon - was it a steroid injection, or an antibiotic injection ?

Thankyou all so much for your kind words.

Alfie seems to be his normal self. And I think thats what panicked me. Him behaving normally yet panting away (Gunnar used to do that) I dont think I would have been so worried if he was doing the "woe is me" bit :)

Well the panic is over - till the next time :)
