He Wee'd On My Bed!
« on: March 11, 2005, 09:50:10 PM »
My 6 month Cocker~Barley (see other thread) wee'd on our bed yesterday!.
Luckily Asda was open so i managed to buy another quilt and it hadnt got to the mattress.
My Hubbie thinks that the cat puked~i cant tell him the truth or he'd go MAD.
I have now put a safety gate up at the bottom of the stairs but i have no idea why he did it!.
Does anyone know????? :(

 welcome to the world of cockers. My cocker has done this a couple of times, dont know why they do it, think it is a territorial thing. My Bailey tends to do it when the cat has been on the bed.

My boys never wee on our bed but they do on the spare beds if they ever get the chance. It's really weird so vigilance is the only option.

At least you spotted it and were able to destroy the evidence!!

Millie weed on my bed recently too. No idea why, and it has only happened once. Pretty sure the cat had been on the bed before the incident too...there's a pattern here I think!

She weed on my side too  ;)

 hunny went through a phase of this it was usually on my side of the bed after frenzied digging    she would be about 6 mts old at the time , she also did it in her bed a few times after being bathed ? shes never done it since though its perhaps another cocker quirk

Sammy did it just the once when I went back to work after having 12 weeks off with a bad back.  I put it down to him complaining because I had left him.

Harry did this - twice. he is 6 1/2 months old now. I was concerned it was a urine infection or something similar - but all clear.

both times when the bed is made and right in the middle. he also pees on the doggy bed round at my parents house occasionally where is is desperately trying to be part of their 'pack'.

At the moment i am trying to determine whether this is down to him just marking or weeing becuase he has been left - i tend to spend a night away once every 1-2weeks  and usually he stays at my mums when i am out for the whole day (i ask her to pop in on him but she just cant help but take him home with her...). I mostly work from home so am inclined to think that this is 'attention seeking' behaviour as the does seem to know when i am going to be away. even though when he wees on the bed it is when i am back home.....

does that make any sense?!?!?

also - the cat spends most of her tme on the bed...
xx my working cocker works very hard at being a lap dog xx

Sam has done this once, but only on my husband's side ;) . We have two cats and they had both been lying on the bed that day. I think it was a territorial thing as they don't normally go on our bed.

Jazz has done this once, It was after her being told off for something naughty, she ran around the house like a lunatic, ran upstairs and peed on the bed...( My side i add. )

She is now banned from upstairs completey
