Hi Guys
My sweet little Elle almost 6 year old working cocker starting having discomfort last weekend swollen back area hard to touch and she found it hard to walk and very lathergic.First thing last monday my hubby took her to the vets who could see she was in pain so quickly
gave her pain relief and x rays, nothing much showed up on the x rays except a small area on her bladder wall, with our consent she had no
choice but to open her up and take a much more detailed look inside. The vet found green vile in her bladder and a thicking on her bladder wall she took samples and sent them off to langford to testing. She was unable to come to any conclusions but wanted her checked for cancer just incase. Our baby went home with us that night and was given various drugs includiing metacam liquid to help her through the trauma and pain. Our next appointment was thursday to get the results.
During this time Elle was very up and down but by thursday could not carry her back legs very well and kept falling over.
By thursday when we went to the vets she was no better and we were given shocking results that she had bladder cancer
the area was so small the surgeon was gobsmacked and had never seen it at such a young age,she like our selves were in tears
due to the her being opened up we had to rest her until tommorrow when it could go either way, they will do more tests and see if the cancer has spread to her spine if she is clear they will remove the small area on her bladder.Due to this particular type of cancer being aggressive they do not recommend chemo. This is the worst situation ever for me iam truly very sad but must try and be positive we want our little gierl to live alot longer.Im hoping maybe the medication is partly why she keeps falling over.
Tommorrow is going to be a hard day just wanted to share my sadness with all cocker lovers who can truly understand.
Michelle.
