Off To The Vets Again
« on: October 19, 2004, 12:25:14 PM »
Am meant to be doing some jobs now but my tummy is churning too much to settle.  In half an hour I am leaving the house to take Bailey to the vets to go under a general anaesthetic to get some x-rays done.  He been having treatment for a limp that comes and goes  for quite a few weeks - the vet now fears he may have elbow displasia  :(   Am still hopeful though that it might be something like growing pains or a pulled muscle.

I have spent the last 2 days walking round with a cloth stuffed in my jeans waistband(and slept with it as well) for him to have at the vets - he's a bit of a wuss and prefers to be my shadow so hope the cloth will help him settle when I leave him.   Bailey having to miss his breakfast has been his main worry though

Will let you know how we get on ...........hoping the vet is wrong - fingers crossed!!!
Laura x

Run free together boys. Missing you both xx

Well, you know we are thinking of you Bailey ;)   Hope the vets wrong Laura    Elbow Dysplasia was one of the things the vet wanted to rule out when Vegas had his injury but it just turned out to be a sprain type injury.  Have had everything crossed all morning and will continue to do so until you let me know he got on - so don't forget as it makes walking the dogs quite difficult ;)    Sending him big kisses from me and the boys(esp Dallas ;) )

Have just pm'd you Laura, but forgot to say good luck for the vets visit (bad Auntie  ).  I've got everything crossed for you both that his limp is just something silly and easily corrected.  Hope missing his meal doesn't upset him too much  .

Big kisses from big sister Molly, and wee brother Brodie.
xx

Let us know how he gets on.

Good luck, Laura and Bailey.  :)

At the age of about 7/8 months Jimmy used to regularly limp about, on one occassion he couldn't walk at all without yelping badly and collapsing. Despite various tests the vets couldn't find anything wrong with him and he's been fine ever since. Hopefully there will be a similar outcome for Bailey.

Oh Laura, poor little Bailey, I've got everything crossed including the dogs paws!   :o

I will chant in my head 'it's nothing serious, it's only a sprain' over and over to send out the right vibes!

Let us know what the vet says!

Oh, Laura, I hope everything goes well.  It's no use telling you not to worry as you'll not be able to stop yourself.  It's horrible sending them of for general anaesthetic (I was in tears when Morgan had to be put under a few months ago) but I'm sure he'll be just fine.  Fingers crossed that you're worrying for nothing and it turns out to be a sprain or something like that.  Sending Bailey hugs and kisses.
