Thanks everyone for your support and positive vibes  :)

Have just returned home from the vets but Bailey needs to stay until about 7pm.  I haven't seen him yet and haven't had an update but I do know that he is now recovering from the anaesthetic - which is one worry over! :)

I saw an x-ray on the board that looked like a pair of chicken legs - am assuming they were Baileys!  Need the next couple of hours to pass now so I can hear how he got on.

Yep, let's hope Colin that Bailey is the same as Jimmy and this is nothing to worry about!  I'm a fairly optimistic person and am keeping everything crossed!!  These x-rays should hopefully shed some light <_<

Thanks again - will keep you all updated as soon as I hear anything - am off to now to try and make the clock go a little faster.

Brogan is lying like Lord Muck on the couch - think he is enjoying the peace

I would wish the time away for you, but when your on holiday, you tend to want time to go as slowly as poss ;)  And I'm sure Brogan is in no rush to have his brother back, by the sounds of it

Still got everything crossed for good news ;)

Hello again all - Bailey is home  :D

One of the x-rays taken was of Baileys shoulder joint dislocated - apparently when he was under the general and his muscles were relaxed she could pop it in and out of the joint.  She is unsure at the moment if it is significant or not - may be because he is still maturing and the muscle is not efficient at holding the joint but may be a possible problem   The x-rays didn't show up any obvious signs of displasia - which is excellent news  - but the vet is referring them on to be read by an orthopaedic radiographer in case she has missed something and a possible referral for Bailey depending on what he finds.

We are hoping to get the full x-ray results and report back next week sometime.  Hopefully that will shed a little more light as to why he keeps limping :(  If he does need to be see by the consultant we are looking at a months waiting list.

Brogan was happy to see Bailey home again - think he finally got bored of sleeping <_<   Brogan can still have some peace because his playmate isn't wanting to play yet - Bailey is a little subdued still - but nothing a little chicken can't fix!!

Oh thats good news :D  Not about the dislocated shoulder of course ;)  but the rest of it.  Hopefully the specialist won't find anything too serious.  Hope he enjoys the chicken ;)

Now I can go and take the boys out

Poor baby, being mauled about like that :( .  Let's hope the problem rectifies itself as his muscles grow stronger.  Ever the optimist, eh?  :D .  Could the vet tell if he is in any pain with it?  It didn't seem to bother him much when he was romping about with Brodie, maybe we should visit soon to help him forget his troubles    .  Take care, and lots of kisses for Bailey!

No mention of pain - on a bad day he is stiff and awkward with his limping but then the next minute he is leaping around like an idiot with no cares in the world - like each time we visit the vet   :D

Am optimistic as well that the problem will improve with age - he will be started on some joint medication after the results come back as well that will hopefully lessen the chances of arthritis in the future - although she doesn't want to do anything before we know if he is to be seen by the consultant or not.

Am sure a romp with Brodie is just what he needs!!  Bailey definately has a bit of a thing for Brodie

Vegas and Dallas - sorry you had to wait for you walk!! ;)  Hope you got an extra long one for your patience!! :P

Hi there Laura. Just wrote a big long message to you, then the blasted laptop crashed, and I lost it - grrrrrr!
Anyway, just wanted to send big love and (gentle) hugs to wee Bailey - what a stress he's put you through. Am sure he will be just fine, but it's so hard not to worry, isn't it? He'll be bouncing off the walls again in no time, I am sure of it!
Hope all is well with you otherwise, and really hope to catch up with you soon.
Love to your two gorgeous boys,
Emma and Pickle xx

Hi Laura,

Really glad it's not hip dysplasia, but still sounds like it could be a problem so all the fingers and paws are crossed that it's something Bailey will grow out of!

Could the shoulder joint be popping in and out by itself which is why it's intermittent?

Give a big squeeze from me
Tania
