Hi everyone,
I posted on Sunday regarding Honey my 14month old cocker being under the weather & after a diagnosis of Gasorentoritis & some medication she seemed to be picking up but yesterday she very quickly took a turn for the worst :cry: ....

....she was sick again & seemed to be very aggitated & off balance so i took her to the vets,from home to the vets she was deteriorating infront of my eyes,by the time she was looked at she was very unresponsive,couldn't feel pain & was obviously not right :cry:

I rused her to the animal hospital where at first they thought she had meningitus & gave her a 50/50 chance of pulling through but by 4.30 her cances had dropped to 70/30 against her.....i was told to keep my mobile on all night as the lovely vet was staying with her & we were expecting the worst :cry:
At 9.00 this morning after a VERY worrying(uninformed :x ) night i finally got hold of someone to be told that she had had a comfortable night but couldn't tell me anymore 'till the vet had re-assessed her.
They now think that she has a very rare condition that if correct Honeys body is basically attacking itself (can't remember the long winded name)....they are treating her for this & she seems to be picking up a bit but it is still very early days & we could still loose her to this illness or to another life threatening illness if this diagnosis is incorrect.
The vets are being fantastic & are doing so much to help my little baby but i'm going out of my head with worry & would be really gratefull if those of you that pray would put in a word for my Honey as she needs all the help she can get at the moment.

Oh Juel I was so distraught reading this post.  Hope you are listening to me Honey - you find every bit of self will and strength to help the vets out.  Keep fighting girl - we have everything crossed for you!

Hi Juel,
It sounds as if Honey as an autoimmune disease which cocker spaniels as a breed are predisposed to.  
My oldest cocker Jodie had a form of this called Auto Immune Haemolytic Aneamia about 3 years ago when we were moving house.  I believe it was the stress of moving that brought it on.  :o  
Although she was very ill and had to take steroids for several months she is fine now.  I do have a lot of info about auto immune problems and if you would like help then please send me an email privately. :)
I hope and pray that your Honey will pull through - there is light at the end of the tunnel.  
Sorry to hear about your other cocker dying so young - how very tragic that must have been and I expect it is at the back of your mind at the moment.
Be positive and try to be strong.

I was so sorry to read your post.

I pray your little one continues to fight and gets well soon.

Please let us know how Honey gets on.
