Allergies

Hey all

We got more problems with Fudge. The Vet said not to cancel the Pet Insurance!!!
She was allergic to all sorts of things after she got spayed- the stiches, the adhesive etc... and now she has a scabby tummy and a bit of dandruf. The Vet said cockers can be sensitive 'Sniff' and that he wants to run some tests to see what she's allergic too.
Has anyone else had allergic cockers? We'd love to hear from others.
Thanks

Hi,
As I mentioned in another post, our new rescue cocker Tia was very itchy. Apparently she has thickened skin around her vagina, and the vet put this down to an allergy. I now have to rub in cream 3 times a day, and so far not so itchy.
She also said that as allergy testing is so expensive, and as there may not be a definitive result, then it wouldn't be done.
Not much help to you I'm afraid!

I sold a bitch, that ended up having to have a mouth operation, due to Cocker Mouth & she was allergic to the stitches.
She was really poorly & her face swelled very badly.
But I had bought her in, not bred her, so not sure what other reactions there may have been in with her ancestors.
