"mole" On Nose - Changing Colors
« on: June 19, 2005, 10:12:48 PM »
Hey all...

We have a 3 1/2 yr old male cocker spaniel that has a spot that used to look like a mole on his nose.

It appeared one morning & over the past week has changed colors from brown (like a mole) to red to white.  He doesn't paw at it & it doesn't seem to bother him.

Could be just over concerned parents?

Suggestions ??

Thanks,
Dale & Skipper Giardina

Could it be a tick? Has it just been there for a week?If you look really closely at it, if its a tick you should be able to see tiny little black legs right where it enters the skin.  Ticks can change colour from white, grey, red, orange.

Hi if this is a tick (horrible little things) then there has been some great advice on here on a thread only last week on how to remove them safely. I would look it up if I were you.

Our last dog got one above her eye, I thought it was a wart or something but when i touched it it wriggled - it still makes my tummy roll over when i think about it even now.

If it is not a tick, then I would get it checked by the vets, just in case it's a nasty. Hope it soon clears up.
