Well its great news that it is not Addison's.
Does he seem well in himself at the moment ?
I wonder if it could be an absorption problem ?

I know how frustrating that is, Im glad he's stable though. Hamish's test results weren't consclusive either apparently, though I'll know more tomorrow. I have the report but can't understand it,lol.

Hope he continues to be fine.x

An absorption problem was my first thought but the TLI test came back fine. I was debating whether to send a faeces sample off for a comprehensive analysis but I'm assuming that if he had any bugs, then his poo would be runny. I'm claiming it off the insurance so just want to make sure I've gone down every avenue.

He is fine in himself, a bit more sleepy than normal, but eating/drinking/pooing/peeing fine. Still running around the park etc so he's not unwell.

Guess I'll just have to uhhm and ahhh over it a bit more

So pleased to hear it's not addison's. I hope you get a clear diagnosis soon. The not knowing must be so stressful.

It's great to hear that he seems so much better in himself and is enjoying life. :D

Lots of hugs for Vegas

The results came back first thing and although the post ACTH sample was below reference value, it apparently rules out Addisons.  Which of course is good news but still makes us none the wiser. He has been on Nutrical(a high calorie food supplement) for a week and his weight has remained stable at 12.3kg.  The vet seems to think the best thing to do is leave it for 2-3 months and retest his kidney levels (probably because they can't think of anything else to test for  )

Have you thought of being referred on or is your vet also dealing with someone else as well (one vet I had liaised with Bristol vet school throughout the week my cat was hospitalised at my local practice and then we eventually took the cat up for a consult).

Hope you get some clearer more positive news soon.

Hi Gill,
Pleased to hear that it is not Addisons.  Thank goodness for insurance - it really does allow us to explore all options and leave no stone unturned.  Good luck with the little man  :)
